Steve Bestard has been promoted from senior vice president to chief operations officer at Cincinnati’s Messer Construction Co.
In this role, Bestard will advance construction operations and strategic planning throughout the company, as well as drive consistency and resource coordination across projects. Bestard has spent his 30-year career at Messer cultivating winning teams and expanding the company’s regional footprint in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee.
Bestard began his career with Messer in 1992 after earning a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, where he continues to serve as a Construction Engineering and Management board member.
His project experience includes leading health care facilities, parking structures, multi-family housing, distribution centers, office buildings, laboratories, entertainment venues, government buildings, retail and industrial facilities.
Bestard is a registered professional engineer in Indiana and Ohio and a graduate of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Class of 2009. He is also a committee member of the United Way Capital Funds; has co-chaired the American Heart Association’s Hard Hats with Heart; and has held past president and executive board positions with Boy Scouts of America.
Bestard’s predecessor, Mark Luegering, remains with Messer as a Senior Vice President leading strategic planning for the company’s next geographic expansion.
