City Club Apartments and local restaurateur and James Beard winning Howard Hanna announced on Sept. 4 that Hanna would open two new concepts at City Club Apartments Crossroads in 2021. The combined 6,000-square-foot space will be divided at roughly 2,000 square feet for a wine bar and 4,000 square feet for a diner.
The natural wine bar will be an Intimate and moody space. It will include seating for around 50 and a private dining room that will accommodate 15-20 guests. A cozy and approachable bar and a hearth style kitchen with a wood burning oven will be prominent in the space. The menu will feature a mix of shareables and entrees with pristine ingredients and a high level of execution. The beverage program will consist of an eclectic array of frequently rotating natural wines.
The centerpiece of the Diner will be a large curved bar with anchored stools winding through the open and airy space. The restaurant’s design is a subtle nod to a classic diner look with a very modern take on execution. The restaurant will seat 60 people indoors and 50 people outside on the first-floor patio. The Diner’s 2,400-square-foot outdoor patio will significantly increase outdoor capacity.
City Club Apartment’s second floor Sky Club includes a theater, gourmet kitchen and lounge seating, and opens up to the community’s outdoor courtyard. The courtyard features an outdoor movie theater, fire pits, bark park, beach, yoga and Zen Garden.
The urban apartment and penthouse community is located along the Kansas City Streetcar mass transit route. The units range in size from studios to penthouses and feature carefully curated and custom designed kitchens, cabinets, and fixtures. The apartments feature plank flooring, custom closets, granite countertops and movable islands, four distinct finishes and modern bathrooms.
