Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth (BRF) has signed one of 2021’s first relocation leases in the Chicago CBD. Colliers International Chicago’s Tony Karmin and Corby Marx represented BRF in the firm’s new 11,318-square-foot lease on the 18th floor at The Franklin, 227 W. Monroe St. BRF, a privately held wealth management company, will relocate from 200 S. Wacker Drive in the summer.

“BRF chose The Franklin because it is centrally located and can easily accommodate employees and visitors alike, whether by train, bus or car,” said Marx, a senior vice president with Colliers Chicago. “The pandemic has allowed building owners to present very aggressive economics, but the building quality and amenity package was superior and in line with BRF’s needs.”

The Franklin is a Class A, two-building complex located in Chicago’s West Loop. Totaling approximately 2.5 million square feet, the building is Chicago’s second largest office property after Willis Tower. The building features excellent access to Metra and CTA, ground level retail, a conferencing center, health club and underground heated parking.

“2020 was a tough year for Chicago’s downtown office market so we are glad 2021 is starting with a win-win—a win for our client and a win for the market,” added Marx. “We hope this begins momentum for 2021 as phased return-to-work programs start to take place.”

Carey Spignese with Tishman Speyer Properties represented building ownership in the transaction.
