Colliers’ Chris Irwin represented MDN Development in the sale of two net-leased retail condos—3541-43 Southport and 3539 Southport Unit 1S—in Chicago’s Southport Corridor. JB Realty was the buyer.
3541-43 Southport is a 2,400-square-foot storefront with a 900-square-foot basement. Leased to Paper Source, it is directly across the street from Anthropologie—a prime location on the street.
The other property is a few storefronts away at 3539 Southport, Unit 1S. The 1,150-square-foot space with 450-square-foot basement is also located across the street from Anthropologie. It is currently leased to Third Love, a Leap Brand company.
The sale is the latest in a string of 50+ transactions Irwin has negotiated along the popular street over the years. Deals he has negotiated include Buck Mason, Sweetgreen, Hotel Chocolat, Free People, Alice & Wonder, and Lululemon, among others.
In recent years the Southport Corridor has morphed from a shopping destination into a dining/entertainment destination. It enjoys pedestrian traffic seven days a week and easy access to the CBD via the L’s Brown Line Station at Southport and Roscoe.
Westin Kane with MidAmerica group represented JB Realty in the transaction.
