Colliers International is representing celebrity chef Michael Symon in his B Spot burger restaurant expansion in the Detroit area.
The Food Network star and Michael Symon Restaurants are currently searching for multiple locations in the Detroit area for his B Spot brand. With six locations in Symon’s hometown of Cleveland and others soon to open in Columbus and Pittsburgh, the Detroit area is an obvious choice for expansion.
“We have been looking towards the Detroit Area for expansion for some time now,” said Doug Petkovic, partner at Michael Symon Restaurants, in a written statement. “Detroit and its surrounding suburbs are vibrant growing markets that we feel match the hometown flavor that all of our B Spot locations have.”
The restaurant focuses on premium burgers and will seat about 100 guests in its restaurant and patio space. B Spot boasts a host of interesting and edgy design elements with garage doors that open the space to the outdoors, barn siding, artwork from tattoo artists and motorcycle parts as décor. A wall of beer cans is a signature design element in the restaurants.
In 2008, Symon opened Roast restaurant on the street-level of The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit. The 200-seat, 8,000-square-foot restaurant has won him numerous culinary awards and is extremely popular amongst Detroit residents.
Thomas Wardlow, a retail specialist with Colliers International Detroit, will be working with Petkovic in the search for the ideal B Spot locations.
