Colliers International has negotiated the lease and sale of a 40,000 square foot industrial research and development space located at 1099 Chicago Road in Troy, MI. The firm’s strong industrial presence and professional relationships allowed them to provide the first look and eventually represent the new tenant, Bontaz Centre, in the lease.
Peter Kepic Sr., principal, and Peter Kepic Jr., senior vice president of Colliers International Detroit, represented the landlord, John Secco of Allegra Development, in the lease. Over the course of the last year, Gary Grochowski, senior vice president, and Bryan Barnas, associate at Colliers, have been working alongside the new tenant evaluating possible sites.
Bontaz Centre, founded in 1965 by Yves Bontaz, is the worldwide leader in automotive fluid management, specializing in subassembly design and production. The French automotive supplier has over 2,000 employees on staff over 24 locations on five continents. The space, previously occupied by International Automotive Components, will be used as Bontaz Centre’s new North American Headquarters.
Bontaz Centre will occupy their new design and production space beginning March 1, 2018. Over the course of their first year, they will be expanding their initial 40,000 square feet by 20,000 more to increase their production processes and accommodate their growing workforce.
