Colliers International | Chicago’s John D’Orazio represented India-based Pacific Surfaces LLC in its 40,000-square-foot lease at 1300 Mark Street in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The granite distributor has maintained a sales office in Chicago for years but this is the firm’s first warehouse/distribution center in the U.S.
The single-story facility has six docks, 22-foot clear height ceilings and several bridge cranes. It is located in Elk Grove Industrial Park, a premier location for business and industry that provides immediate access to O’Hare International Airport and the vast interstate system that converges near the airport.
With the new distribution center, Pacific Surfaces, which had traditionally sold product by full shipping container, will be able to sell smaller quantities to a much broader market. Location was a main driver for the lease signing as were the bridge cranes which will help move the very heavy product around the warehouse.
“This is a win-win for the client,” said D’Orazio. “It marks an expansion of their business and opens up a whole new way of doing business in North America.”
