Colliers’ Ron Behm honored with SIOR Chicago’s Richard G. Levy President’s Award

The Chicago chapter of SIOR honored Colliers International I Chicago’s principal Ron Behm, SIOR, with the 2019 Richard G. Levy President’s Award at its annual holiday luncheon held on December 6th at the Glen View Club in Golf, Illinois.

“Ron is more than deserving of this distinguished honor,” said Jim Carris, executive managing director and market leader for Colliers | Chicago. “He is a valued member of the Colliers Chicago team and we are very proud to call him our friend and colleague.”

Described by co-workers as a “broker’s broker,” Behm rolls up his sleeves to make deals happen and goes the extra mile to serve his clients with exceptional attention to detail. For more than 35 years, clients throughout Chicago and the Midwest have entrusted Behm with their most significant transactions and projects. His client roster is robust and includes household names like Power Solutions International, EA Logistics, KLC Logistics, JB Hunt, IAC, James Campbell Co., Liberty Property, Panattoni, Prologis, Property Reserve Inc., ThyssenKrupp and RREEF DWS.

“Like Richard, brokers love doing deals with Ron as he always treats them fairly and with respect,” said David Bercu, a Colliers’ colleague and friend for more than 30 years. “It’s no surprise that he annually wins the SIOR award for most cooperative transactions.”

Behm has been recognized with SIOR Chicago’s “Largest Number of Intra-chapter Transactions” from 2004 to 2013 and again from 2015 to 2018. In addition, he was awarded NAIOP’s Industrial “Build-to-Suit of the Year” award in 2015. He has consistently ranked among Colliers USA’s top 10 percent of producers. Further, like Mr. Levy did, Behm understands the importance of giving back to the commercial real estate industry and is one of only a handful of individuals who has served as president of both AIRE (1995) and SIOR (2006).
