Colliers Ann Arbor closed the sale of the historic Parkway Center at 2345 S. Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Spanning across 1.44 acres, this property is comprised of two interconnected Queen Anne Victorian homes, totalling 13,650 square feet.
Jim Chaconas, Executive Vice President, and Tory Chaconas, Associate, from the Chaconas Group – Colliers Ann Arbor, represented the sellers, Dr. Dennis Chernin and Dr. Edward (Lev) Linkner, in this landmark transaction.
The Parkway Center holds a cherished place in Ann Arbor’s history. In 1987, Dennis and Lev undertook a remarkable endeavor to rescue two Queen Anne Victorian Homes from demolition, orchestrating their relocation through Ann Arbor, a journey of five miles. Streets were closed, utility lines were raised, and crowds gathered to see these two structures being transported to their new location. The consolidation of these two homes created The Parkway Center, a distinctive mixed-use office/medical and retail property.
Notably, in 1981, Jim Chaconas, now Executive Vice President was embarking on his real estate journey, establishing his first office within one of these historic homes when they were situated on Main Street. Thus, the sale of Parkway Center carries not just the promise of future development but also commemorates a rich legacy of preservation and innovation within Ann Arbor’s community.
