Comcast Business announced the addition of 6.5 miles of fiber and other advanced network infrastructure to reach nearly 90 businesses in three Kankakee County retail and commercial corridors, including:
- Bradley Commons in Bourbonnais along Illinois Route 50;
- Water Tower Plaza in Bourbonnais at Interstate 57 and Illinois Route 50; and
- The cluster of commercial and warehouse facilities located at Stanford Drive and Grinnell Road in Kankakee.
With the projects complete, Comcast Business can provide customers in these locations and along the expansion routes access to Internet speeds of up to 100 Gigabits per second (Gbps), along with a wide range of advanced commercial telecommunications services, including Ethernet, Internet, Advanced Voice and Cloud services. In addition, with the network in place, Comcast Business can get new customers online quickly.
Additional advanced Comcast Business services available in Kankakee County include:
- Comcast Business Mobile, inclusive of 5G, flexible data options and plans for Comcast Business Internet customers;
- Connection Pro, an automatic 4G LTE backup connection to keep businesses running;
- SecurityEdge, a cloud-based cybersecurity solution for businesses protecting all connected devices; and
- WiFi Pro, a mobile-friendly tool that allows businesses to manage customer- and internal-facing networks.
Comcast has spent nearly $30 billion in the last decade building an expansive fiber-dense network across the company’s service footprint. Comcast has invested $1.4 billion in technology and infrastructure in Illinois alone in the last three years. These investments have allowed Comcast to offer an array of telecommunications services, including an Internet service with download speeds up to 1.2 Gbps to all homes and businesses its network passes locally in its Kankakee County service footprint and nationally. The company also offers Gigabit Pro, a 3 Gbps fiber-based residential broadband service, in many locations.
