Each year, Midwest Real Estate News inducts a new class into its Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Last year, despite its challenges, was no different. Here is a look at one of our newer Hall of Fame members, Philip Pelok, senior vice president with the Columbus, Ohio, office of CBRE.
A powerful advocate for his clients. That’s the reputation Philip Pelok has built during his commercial real estate career of more than two decades.
Pelok has been a consistent top producer in the Columbus market, but has also closed deals across the entire Midwest. He and his team have completed transactions valued at more than $5 billion throughout his career.
These aren’t small deals, either. Pelok and his team of CRE professionals had closed the largest transaction in Columbus every year since 2010.
To do this, and to achieve this level of consistency, Pelok focuses above all on the needs of his clients. He’s not just a salesperson, he’s a consultant, doing everything he can to help his clients meet their goals. He also spends the time to study his market and adheres to the highest of ethical standards.
Pelok is one of those fortunate few. He’s found a career that’s not only perfectly suited to his talents but is also one that he loves. He says that he most enjoys “the ability to be creative when developing solutions for a diverse customer base to deliver superior client outcomes.”
Pelok credits his team with much of his success.
“My success in this business is a direct result of the incredibly talented and selfless people I work with who provide best-in-class service every day to the benefit of our clients,” Pelok said. “To be successful in this business, I believe you have to constantly evolve, develop a plan for success and, above all, be willing to put in the hours necessary to activate your plan.”
Not surprisingly, this CRE veteran has notched several industry awards during his career. This includes being named a frequent top producer by the Columbus Board of Realtors, earning the CRE Columbus Top Producer honor from 2004 through 2016 and being one of only 15 CBRE professionals to be selected for the HPP Executive Business Program.
When not working, Pelok enjoys spending time with his wife and young children.
“We have a passion for travel,” Pelok said. “We are looking forward to some normalcy to resume that passion when it’s safe.”
