Each year, Midwest Real Estate News elects a new class to its Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Here’s a look at one of our new inductees, Geoffrey Orf, executive vice president of the St. Louis office of Colliers.
What makes someone a leader in the commercial real estate business? Results. And Geoffrey Orf, executive vice president with the St. Louis office of Colliers, gets them … and then some.
During his career of more than 33 years, Orf, who specializes in the industrial sector, has completed more than 1,200 transactions. These transactions have comprised more than 30 million square feet.
Orf is heavily involved with supply chain clients, and has succeeded largely because he focuses directly on the needs of each of them. His ability to bring his clients the best possible outcomes has led to a steady stream of repeat customers, the lifeblood of every successful CRE career.
Orf’s experience has made him an expert in the Missouri and Illinois markets. And his peers say that he leverages this knowledge to provide unparalleled service to his clients.
Orf said that he’s never regretted his career choice. Like most talented CRE pros, Orf has found a career that’s a perfect fit for his temperament, talents and work ethic.
“Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with great clients and colleagues,” Orf said. “As with every business, there are challenges every day. However, I think the challenges are part of what makes life fulfilling.”
It’s little surprise that Orf’s fellow industry professionals have recognized his abilities. During his career of more than three decades, Orf has earned several of the industry’s biggest honors.
This industry veteran has been named a member of the Colliers International Everest Club, an honor that goes to those Colliers brokers who rank among the top 10 percent of company producers. He’s also won several SIOR Awards of Excellence, including for notching the industrial transaction of the year, industrial development team of the year and development team of the year.
The St. Louis Association of Realtors’ Commercial Division also honored Orf with the Largest Industrial Lease awared in 2016.
Orf credits much of his success to the mentors and colleagues he’s met throughout his career.
“There are so many great and successful brokers in our market,” Orf said. “I’ve been blessed to work with amazing people who have helped me throughout my career. My wife and family have always supported me. I’ve worked with incredible customers, colleagues, support staff and, honestly, great competitor brokers whom I consider friends. St. Louis is a great place to be in our business.”
When not at work, Orf prefers spending time with his family, reading, fishing, hunting and shooting sporting clays.
