The joint venture team of McShane Construction Company and UJAMAA Construction has completed 4400 Grove, a highly anticipated, mixed-use development from Brinshore Development and the Michaels Organization.
“There is a shortage of affordable housing across the country, and Chicago is no exception,” said Jeffrey Raday, president of McShane Construction Company. “4400 Grove combines affordable housing with market-rate units and retail space, making it a great addition to Bronzeville and the city of Chicago.”
The four-story development, designed by Pappageorge Haymes Partners, combines retail and residential in the heart of Bronzeville. Commercial space is located on the ground floor, while floors two through four incorporate a total of 84 rental units. 21 of the units are reserved for Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) residents, 38 are affordable at 60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI) and the remaining 25 units are offered at market rate.
Resident amenities include a lounge, bike room, fitness/yoga room, conference rooms and a mail room. There is also on-site parking, including dedicated retail spaces.
