The newest industrial park in Metro West Kansas City will see the debut of its first large distribution center by the summer of 2024. Contegra Construction Co. is building a 1-million-square-foot distribution center, the first building to emerge at the $390 million Flint Commerce Center in De Soto, Kansas.
The multi-phased 370-acre industrial park is being developed by Flint Development and will host up to six buildings.
Panasonic is leasing half of the building to support a nearby battery manufacturing facility under construction. Mark C. Long and John Hassler at Newmark Zimmer are handling leasing duties.
Located at 10200 Edgerton Road, the cross-dock distribution center is being constructed with tilt-up concrete panels with a 40-foot clear height. It features 98 dock doors with four drive-through doors and has the capacity to expand to 168 dock doors. The TPO roof is rated FM 1-90 with more fasteners to handle a higher wind load from storms. The HVAC system features eight make-up air units and eight exhaust fans. Parking is available for 515 cars and 251 trailers.
Joining Contegra, Flint Development and Newmark Zimmer on the project are Davidson Architecture and Engineering, BHC Civil Engineering & Surveying, PKMR Engineers, Wallace Engineering and CFS Engineers.
