Contegra Construction Co. has completed a 1-million-square-foot distribution center at Flint Commerce Center in De Soto, Kansas. The 370-acre industrial park is being developed by Flint Development.
Panasonic is leasing half of the building to support a nearby battery manufacturing facility under construction. For more information on leasing, contact Mark C. Long or John Hassler at Newmark Zimmer.
Located at 10200 Edgerton Rd., the cross-dock distribution center is constructed with tilt-up concrete panels with a 40-foot clear height. It features 98 dock doors with four drive-through doors with the capacity to expand to 168 dock doors. The TPO roof is rated FM 1-90, specifically designed to handle higher wind load. The HVAC system features eight make-up air units and eight exhaust fans. Parking is available for 515 cars and 251 trailers.
The project also includes a hazardous materials storage room with a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) to precondition outdoor air brought into the facility. In addition, Contegra built a spill containment system around the entire structure perimeter and added specialized installations related to mechanical, electric, plumbing and fire protection.
Joining Contegra, Flint Development and Newmark Zimmer on the project are Davidson Architecture and Engineering, BHC Civil Engineering & Surveying, PKMR Engineers, Wallace Engineering and CFS Engineers.
