Much-needed improvements to the wastewater treatment plant servicing the growing St. Louis suburb of O’Fallon, Missouri, have been completed. Contegra Construction completed the modernization of the facility serving 93,000 city residents.
The 14-month project includes a new two-story headworks building and discharge conveyer.
At the front end of the process, the 2,000-square-foot concrete headworks facility houses new screen channels to filter sanitary sewer before it is treated and readied for discharge. Improvements were also made to the back end with a new discharge conveyer, the final wastewater processing before it is discharged. The modernization efficiently processes an average of 7.5 million gallons of sanitary sewer flow per day.
Contegra also made improvements to the paved roadway serving the facility located at 150 Firma Road.
Joining Contegra on the project were Vision Electric and Raider Mechanical.
