The District at City Center Lenexa, a mixed-use development in Lenexa, Kansas, celebrated its grand-opening June 27. The event featured an office ribbon-cutting and remarks from area officials.

Speakers at the event included EPC Real Estate’s Terry O’Leary, Woodbury Corporation’s Josh Woodbury, Lenexa Mayor Michael Boehm and Copaken Brooks principal Keith Copaken.

“This is the next generation of suburban mixed-use,” Copaken said during the event. “There’s not another development in Kansas City that combines all these pieces of the puzzle together.”

City Center Lenexa was established with citizen support as part of Lenexa’s Vision 2020 planning document in 1997.

When fully developed, The District at City Center Lenexa will consist of more than 2 million square feet, inclding civic components for the City of Lenexa, nearly 1 million square feet of office and retail and 375 residential units.
