Dallas-based Younger Partners has tapped Bob Acuff to lead the new corporate services division. He comes to Younger Partners from Colliers International.
Acuff joined the commercial real estate world after working for Mobil Oil for 22 years. He went to work with commercial real estate icon Bill Cawley in 1996 and stayed with all the iterations of his firm as it transitioned to CASE and ultimately Colliers. He partnered with Tom Sutherland at Colliers until Sutherland left to join Cushman & Wakefield.
“After my team disbanded at Colliers, it seemed like a good time to hit the restart button,” Acuff said. “Two of my former Colliers colleagues, Greg Hoffman and Bo Estes joined Younger Partners and loved it here. I also talked with Bill about it and he said he thought it would be a good fit for me here.”
The deal was sealed, according to Acuff, after meeting with Younger Partners founders, Moody Younger and Kathy Permenter. “My strength in handling national account work is a good addition to the growing Younger Partners brand,” Acuff said, “so it was many things that came together to create a great place for me here.”
“We are always looking for the best and brightest,” Moody said. “The prospect of gaining a broker of Bob’s caliber was an opportunity we couldn’t miss. We continue to add wonderful talent to the team as we explore new ways to serve our clients.”
Acuff’s career spans many clients and transactions, but he said one of the most noteworthy aspects of his career has been his tenure (since 2008) of handling the portfolio for Thryv, a 125-year-old company that has evolved from its days as a phone book company.
“It is unusual in this industry to work for a client that long,” said Acuff. “It has been a great account. At one point, I was handling 120 leases for them.”
