On May 29, CREW Chicago hosted a discussion luncheon, Lifestyle Hospitality Development Trends: A Conversation on the Chicago Hotel Market. The luncheon included a one-on-one chat between Chicago’s leading hotel developer—John Rutledge founder, president and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, LLC—and Sophie Bidek, partner with Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture.

At the May luncheon, held at The East Bank Club, the two discussed the overall lifestyle hotel development trends, as well as Chicago’s hospitality market. They also went into detail about the recently opened Hotel Essex and Essex on the Park luxury apartment building on South Michigan Avenue, where Oxford was the developer and HPA was the architect. The event concluded with Q&A from the audience.
