
Cushman & Wakefield announced that Mike Valant has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Detroit office. Valant brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience and specializes in cross-market leasing and dispositions throughout Southeast Michigan and nationwide.
Valant has extensive experience across the office, industrial, investment and retail sectors, advising clients on a broad range of complex transactions, including large-block tenant and agency leasing assignments and multimillion-dollar acquisitions and dispositions. Throughout his career, he has represented tenants, landlords, buyers and sellers, providing a comprehensive perspective across the transaction lifecycle.
Valant joins Cushman & Wakefield after spending 15 years with Newmark, where he most recently served as a Managing Director in the firm’s Detroit office. During his tenure, he worked with a diverse range of local and national organizations, including Time Equities, Inc., WSP USA, JFK Investment Company, Flagstar Bank, Wells Fargo, TruGreen, Schostak Brothers & Company, LLC, Rose Pest Solutions, Refloor, LLC, Escapology, Private Equity, among many others.
A Multi-Year CoStar Power Broker Award recipient, Valant was also recognized with Newmark’s National Rising Star Award in 2014. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Michigan and a member of the Detroit Economic Club and Michigan State University Alumni Club.
Valant holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University.
