Cushman & Wakefield has been awarded the office leasing assignment for NBC Tower in downtown Chicago. The historic 37-story Class-A property at Cityfront Center serves as a landmark for the neighborhood just east of the Magnificent Mile and is the long-time home of NBC Chicago’s WMAQ-TV.
The property is owned by Chicago-based Metropolis Investment Holdings Inc. Cushman & Wakefield’s Mason Taylor, Karoline Eigel and Paige Krueger will oversee all tenant leasing.
Located at 455 N. Cityfront Plaza Dr., NBC Tower contains nearly 900,000 RSF and has undergone comprehensive renovations to all amenity spaces, including the addition of The Golf Club, featuring a state-of-the-art golf simulator, bar and lounge, and opening of Tower Espresso in the building’s lobby. Other recent upgrades include a new lobby, fitness center, multi-room executive conferencing facility and tenant lounge.
NBC Tower was honored by BOMA Chicago as a 2025 Chicago Local and North Central Region TOBY Winner for excellence in building management in the 500,000 to one million square feet category. Recognized for its operating efficiency, the building has been awarded an Energy Star label multiple times and LEED certification at the gold level. In addition to NBC, current notable tenants include the University of Chicago, City Cruises and multiple international consulates.
The Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed tower was constructed in a post-modern Art Deco style as part of a multi-phase, 50-acre development conceived as a link between Chicago’s Near North Side and the Loop. The property presides over a sizeable entrance plaza and features intimate views of the Chicago River, Lake Michigan and city skyline.
