Cushman & Wakefield represented Activate, a provider of active games, in securing its third Houston location at 19240 Gulf Freeway, an approximately 12,000-square-foot freestanding building in front of Baybrook Mall.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Eric Lestin and Michael Burgower represented Activate in its transaction with Ashita Investments, LLC which was represented by Bruce Wallace of Jolink Wallace. Lestin and Burgower also represented Activate in its leases for locations in The Woodlands, at 536 Sawdust Road, and Katy, at 20225 Katy Freeway.

Baybrook Mall is located in an affluent Houston suburb, Friendswood, Texas, and within a five-mile radius has a population exceeding 210,000 and average household income of nearly $130,000.

Founded in Canada in 2019, Activate quickly rose to prominence with its innovative approach to live-action gaming. Using RFID technology and immersive design, Activate tracks each player’s progress over time, allowing them to level up, unlock achievements, win rewards, and return for endless replay-ability. The concept has resonated globally, garnering millions of followers on social media, and now operates in more than 70 locations in seven countries.

Activate’s new state-of-the-art gaming facility welcomes all ages and skill levels, encouraging players to explore and create their own unique gaming experience. Here’s what to expect:

  • Guests can sign up in groups of two to five players and challenge each other through progress tracking via Activate’s high-tech electronic RFID wristbands, racking up points, leveling up and earning prizes along the way.
  • Top gaming rooms at the new live-action gaming venue include the fast-paced Tik Tok viral Mega Grid with 500+ multi-activated rainbow-colored tiles, a technicolored Hoops Court, a digital dodgeball revamp called Strike, and reflex-defying Laser tag.
  • Players at Activate navigate through a series of games, their scores soar as they leap, dodge, and strategize through the world’s first live-action gaming experience.
