Cushman & Wakefield moving Chicago office, corporate headquarters to 225 West Wacker

Cushman & Wakefield will be merging its corporate headquarters and Chicago operations at 225 West Wacker in the West Loop submarket.

The firm will occupy 83,033 square feet of space in the building’s top four floors by second quarter 2017.

Dan Maslauski, Michael Sessa and Scott Shelbourne represented Cushman & Wakefield in lease negotiations, while Hines’ Brian Atkinson and Mark Anderson represented building ownership, Mirae Asset Global Investments.

The announcement comes more than a year after the September 2015 merger of Cushman & Wakefield and DTZ, which resulted in the newly combined firm significantly growing its Chicago-based brokerage and advisory businesses.

Constructed in 1989, 225 West Wacker Drive is located at the southeast corner of Wacker Drive and Franklin Street. The site consists of a full city block bordered by Post Place, Lake Street, Franklin Street and Wacker Drive. The 31-story building contains 650,812 rentable square feet of office and retail space.
