More than 100 Cushman & Wakefield team members, clients and friends took part in the commercial real estate services firm’s recent 2nd Annual Industrial Charity Golf Outing at the Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook. The event raised $40,000 for Operation FINALLY HOME, a nonprofit that provides mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans, and the families of service men and women lost in combat.

Stephen Jackel, whose family received a home through the program. The evening’s featured speaker, Sgt. Jackel, (center) emphasized the ongoing needs of wounded veterans and their families. He also shared his experiences serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, his experiences returning home after losing both legs in combat, and his involvement with Operation FINALLY HOME.
“Our work wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive from all the donors, builders and volunteers who are eager to give back to our wounded heroes,” said Daniel Vargas, Vice President Family Matters and Community Outreach of Operation FINALLY HOME. “The donation from the Cushman & Wakefield golf outing will help change the lives of many families.”
“Our Industrial group at Cushman & Wakefield was honored to have the chance to work with Operation FINALLY HOME on this event and to meet Sergeant Jackel,” Morris said. “We are grateful to our servicemen and women, and we are grateful for the work this organization does to pay them back. This was so personal for us, and so inspirational. I know every Cushman & Wakefield professional and client who attended felt the same way.”
