Less than a year after groundbreaking, Darland Construction has completed a major expansion at Providence Medical Center in Wayne, Neb. The three-phase project included construction of a 25,000-square-foot addition for a new physical therapy and wellness center, a separate 3,500-square-foot addition expanding the oncology outpatient facility and remodeling of the existing main building lobby.
Darland project manager Bill Vandenberg said that the project originally included only the new construction.
“The hospital added on the lobby remodel midway through the project and asked us to work closely with the architects to streamline the design and remodel so the entire project could be completed within the original construction window,” Vandenberg said. “Through a real team effort, we met the client’s expanding objectives and the target completion date.”
