David Morris is a 25-year industry veteran specializing in office and industrial leasing in St. Louis. Morris spent 17 years at Colliers Turley Martin Tucker where he was recognized several times as a top 5 producer, later becoming a principal with the firm.
Eventually Morris became the market leader for Grubb & Ellis’ St. Louis office. In that role, Morris led and mentored a brokerage team of up to 33 agents. In 2007, The St. Louis Business Journal ranked the Grubb & Ellis office the 2nd largest brokerage firm in the region. Grubb & Ellis later appointed Morris to its seven-person Affiliate Leadership Board in 2008.
Morris works closely with clients to leverage the market to achieve his clients’ goals. He helps clients find new locations, assists in negotiating lease renewals, helps find or sell investment properties and manages transactions for clients who have offices in multiple markets or who want to expand into other markets. Morris also has been involved in more than one billion dollars in transactions, advising business leaders, entrepreneurs and institutional owners on trends and strategies to optimize their real estate decisions.
In addition, Morris has written many articles on commercial real estate and has been quoted in the St. Louis Business Journal, KSKD Channel 5, Chicago Tribune, Midwest Real Estate News, Small Business Monthly, Missouri Lawyers Weekly and the BOMA Leasing Guide.
Morris also has been very involved in the CRE industry. He has served more than 10 years on the St. Louis CCIM Board and was chapter president in 2001 before moving on to become CCIM’s Region 7 vice president. Morris served as the St. Louis Realtors Commercial Division president in 2011, the 2012 SIOR Chapter president and will serve as the 2013 chairman of the Missouri Realtors Commercial Division. Outside of work, Morris has been generous in donating his time to worthwhile organizations. He does classroom teaching for Junior Achievements and participates in Habitat for Humanity builds.
