Dayton Street Partners principal, Howard Wedren, announced plans for the redevelopment of a 40,000-square-foot timber and masonry loft located at 2137 West Walnut St. in Chicago.
The firm will transform the two-story building into creative office space; however, it plans to make several base building improvements before commencing with the lease-up. Construction will begin immediately and include new exterior windows, interior sandblasting, new steel staircases, new electrical service and lighting and an ADA compliant elevator.
The building will be one of the few properties in the sub market offering blocks of space 15,000 square feet or larger. That bodes well for Dayton Street and prospective tenants.
