More than 150 alumni and friends attended the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance’s 5th annual boat cruise and office market event last week.
Before kicking off the sunset cruise, the evening began with a dockside discussion led by DREAA co-president Rob Damrat of Barings. Panelists Max Meyers of R2 Companies, Brad Serot of CBRE, Matt Pistorio of The Telos Group and Tony Scacco of Riverside Development discussed the Chicago office market and many of the new projects along the river.
After the panel, Chicago’s First lady departed from the dock for a cruise along the Chicago River beginning east of Michigan Avenue. Guests were able to see the newly completed River Walk, towering new offices such as 150 N. Riverside and 400 W. Lake and many of the iconic buildings that make up the city’s famous skyline.
A portion of the proceeds from all DREAA events goes toward an academic scholarship fund for students studying real estate at DePaul. Last year the organization provided $7,500 in scholarship support. Earlier this year, at an event honoring CBRE’s Jack Durburg, nearly $220,000 was raised for the scholarship fund.
