Design Builder | General Contractor, DSI Group, in partnership with clients Karis Industrial and Ravago, has announced the commencement of construction for Ravago’s groundbreaking 500,000-square-foot facility, set to serve as the anchor for the expansive 200-acre Karis Center for Commerce in Montgomery, Illinois. With construction activities already underway and a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for October 18th, this project represents a significant milestone for the team as the collaboration deepens with Karis, the visionary owner and developer behind Karis Center for Commerce.
Founded in 1961 in Arendonk, Belgium, Ravago is the global leader in polymer and chemical distribution. The company is active in three markets: polymers, chemicals, and building materials. This new facility will support Ravago’s polymer distribution activities in Greater Chicago and North America.
The 500,000-square-foot facility proudly takes place as the flagship project at the Karis Center for Commerce at 2200 Galena Road in Montgomery, Illinois. DSI South, which celebrated the opening of its Tampa, Florida office in January 2023, is spearheading this project with the invaluable support of its local office in Oak Brook.

- Situated at 2200 Galena Road in Montgomery, Illinois, the Ravago facility spans an impressive 500,000 square feet across a vast 100-acre landscape. This industrial warehouse boasts 40-foot clear height, featuring 22 dock positions and four convenient drive-in doors.
- The establishment of this new location underscores Ravago’s unwavering dedication to growth and innovation. In addition to its industrial capabilities, the facility showcases 12,776 square feet of interior, Class A office space. This vital layer has been curated to provide staff with an optimal work environment while seamlessly accommodating their technological and practical needs.
- The site currently offers an impressive 268 railcar positions, providing ample capacity for unloading, loading, and storing railcars. Additionally, 207 future rail car positions have been earmarked exclusively for Ravago’s 500,000-square-foot structure.
- The second pad at the site is tailored to house a 130,000-square-foot building, complete with dedicated rail access for optimal functionality. This parcel is earmarked for Ravago’s future growth plans in the region.
