DLR Group appoints Cicora as new principal in Chicago office

DLR Group CEO Griff Davenport, FAIA, has announced the appointment of two new senior principals and 26 new principals, including Joe Cicora in the Chicago office. Cicora will serve as principal, national business development leader in the firm’s business development group.

“DLR Group is driven by a leadership culture and our new senior principals and principals will be instrumental in fulfilling our promise to elevate the human experience through design,” said Davenport. “I’m inspired by the fact that 46 percent of our new principals are women, and one-third of DLR Group’s new principals during the past three years have been women. This is indicative of the change in our profession, and within DLR Group, that will bring new voices and innovation into the design industry to meet the needs of clients in our local communities, and around the globe, in the coming years.”

Cicora focuses on clients in the hospitality, retail and workplace sectors. He is able to leverage a strong portfolio of business relationships nationally and throughout Chicagoland to meet the needs of both regional and national clients. Cicora is active in Chicago-based professional organizations including NAIOP, CoreNET and ULI.

“I love building relationships with people and watching them translate into a successful project, seeing our clients succeed,” Cicora said. “I also love the competitive nature of chasing and winning a project—it’s about building a team and proving to the client why DLR Group is the best solution.”
