DMAC Architecture to design Graduate Evanston Hotel December 12, 2019 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Share via email Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners acquired The Homestead at 625 Hinman Avenue in Evanston, Illinois. The eight-story, 91-key hotel will run independently as The Homestead prior to and during renovations, which will begin in early 2020. Once completed in fall 2020, the hotel will debut as part of the Graduate Hotels collection. The building itself originally opened in 1927 and makes the prestigious list of Historic Places by the National Register. Upon reopening, the handcrafted, locally-driven hotel will offer more than 91 refreshed guest rooms as well as a new restaurant and café concept. Chicago-based DMAC Architecture is conducting the architectural design, with interior design handled by the Graduate Hotels in-house team. “We are thrilled to be working with AJ Capital Partners on the renovation and rebranding of this historic building,” said Dwayne MacEwen, founder and principal at DMAC Architecture. “We look forward to uncovering elements of the building, bringing new life to this exceptional property with a fresh perspective on hospitality.” Created for travelers who seek memory-making journeys, Graduate Hotels is a thoughtfully crafted collection of hotels that reside in the most dynamic university-anchored cities across the country. Each property celebrates and commemorates the optimistic energy of its community while offering an extended retreat to places that often play host to the best days of our lives. There are currently 21 Graduate Hotels open and operating across the U.S. and an additional 12 properties under development and slated to open by the end of 2020.
