The leaders of the departments of transportation from Illinois, Iowa and Missouri will gather for a Department of Transportation panel during the 10th Tri-State Development Summit May 7 in Hannibal, Mo.
Illinois Department of Transportation secretary Ann Schneider, Iowa Department of Transportation director Paul Trombino III and Missouri Department of Transportation director David Nichols will participate in the discussion. Michael Inman, mayor of Macomb, Ill., will moderate the discussion.
The theme of this years summit is Water: Waterways, Transportation and Regionalism.
The Summit Transportation Task Force was created in 1997 to evaluate all transportation issues within the tri-state region of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. The task force has since facilitated the completion of nearly 1,300 miles of four-lane highways. Just 380 miles of the force’s originally identified 1,677 miles of four-lane highway priorities have yet to be completed.
