Duke Realty adds new VP of leasing and development in Chicago

Duke Realty Corporation, the largest domestic-only, pure-play logistics property REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) in the United States, has hired Josh Bauer as vice president of leasing and development in Chicago. In his role, Bauer will negotiate and secure lease commitments from new and existing tenants in the company’s Chicago industrial portfolio, while also seeking new development opportunities.

“Chicago continues to be one of Duke Realty’s most active markets, with our team working diligently to ensure our existing properties are occupied and seeking out opportunities to develop modern space in submarkets where inventory is limited,” said Susan Bergdoll, senior vice president and regional leader for its Chicago, Minneapolis and Indianapolis markets. “Josh has worked in the commercial real estate industry for the past ten years and I have no doubt that his expertise will help us expand our best-in-class portfolio.”

Bauer joins Duke Realty from Opus Development Company where he worked in their development operations for four and a half years, steadily earning greater responsibility through multiple promotions and overseeing large development transactions. Prior to joining Opus, he was an industrial broker at Newmark Knight Frank where he represented institutional landlords and occupiers and earned the company’s Rising Star award in 2016-2017. Bauer earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Iowa.
