Duke Realty adds renewable energy manager

David Crist

Indianapolis-based Duke Realty has hired David Crist in the company’s newly created role of renewable energy manager.

In his role, Crist will be responsible for executing Duke Realty’s renewable energy strategy across the company’s 160-million-square-foot portfolio. Additionally, he will monitor and evaluate energy conservation innovations and sustainability initiatives for efficacy and potential deployment.

Prior to joining Duke Realty, Crist served as energy and sustainability manager at NFI Industries, a leading third-party logistics provider, in Camden, New Jersey, where he managed the solar portfolio, helped standardize utility processes across the enterprise and negotiated electric and gas commodities in deregulated markets.

Before NFI Industries, he worked for CubeSmart L.P. in the same capacity, manager of sustainability and energy, overseeing energy management for more than 750 self-storage facilities and operating building management systems for 75 properties in 14 states. Crist started his career working as a systems performance analyst for Tozour Energy Systems Inc. where he learned how to implement energy conservation measures and conducted energy audits.

Crist earned his Bachelor of Science in Energy Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and is a certified energy manager, licensed by the Association of Energy Engineers.
