Duke Realty Corporation’s Indianapolis office has been selected as the general contractor for Maplehurst Bakeries, LLC’s new 181,169-square-foot facility in Lebanon Business Park located off I-65 in Lebanon, Ind. The building, which will be constructed on a 11.4-acre parcel in the northeast corner of the park on Mt. Zion Road, will be used as a baking and distribution center for the Brownsburg, Ind.-based company that produces and sells frozen baked products to in-store bakeries and grocery retailers in North America. Maplehurst Bakeries is a division of Canada-based Weston Foods.

“We are pleased to have been chosen by Maplehurst Bakeries to oversee the construction of its new manufacturing and distribution facility,” said Charlie Podell, Senior Vice President of Duke Realty’s Indiana operations. “We are committed to bringing the same dedication to quality and customer service in constructing this facility as the other buildings we have delivered in Lebanon Business Park since 1995. Maplehurst’s investment in Lebanon will improve the tax base and provide hundreds of good-paying jobs.”

Construction of Maplehurst Bakeries’ new facility will begin this month with delivery slated for late March 2015. The building will include a 50,000-square-foot freezer/cold dock area, office and warehouse/production space and 32′ clear height.

Bryan Poynter with Cassidy Turley represented Maplehurst Bakeries in the transaction. Duke Realty was represented by Rich Prestholt and Blaine Paul and Kate Ems.
