The Columbus office of Duke Realty Corporation announced the construction of a 304,560-square-foot, built-to-suit industrial warehouse for American Showa, an automobile parts manufacturer and distributor, in Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park (RGLP), a master-planned logistics park being developed in partnership with Capitol Square Ltd. and Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
“American Showa was looking for a site for its new distribution facility with superior transportation options,” said Ron Reynolds, General Manager: Trade Compliance and Logistics for American Showa. “Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park not only provides us with immediate access to multiple modes of transportation, it also is a designated Free-Trade Zone which offers us potential advantages when it comes to customs entry procedures and import duties.”
The new facility will be located in the Intermodal North Campus of the Park, immediately adjacent to Rickenbacker Parkway, a Loaded-to-Capacity Zone, and in close proximity to the Norfolk Southern Intermodal Terminal and Rickenbacker International Airport.
Construction of the America Showa build-to-suit, bulk warehouse is slated to begin in June with delivery early next year.
