The Columbus office of Duke Realty Corporation is developing a 421,200-square-foot build-to-suit bulk warehouse for BASF Corporation in Columbus, Ohio.
The new facility is being built on a 33-acre site in the intermodal campus of Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park, a 1,576-acre, multi-modal industrial development being developed through a partnership between Duke Realty, Columbus Regional Airport Authority and Capitol Square, Ltd.
The new facility will be adjacent to Rickenbacker Parkway, a Loaded-to-Capacity Zone, and near Norfolk Southern’s intermodal terminal and cargo-dedicated Rickenbacker International Airport.
“We are pleased to have been selected as the developer of this new distribution center in the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park,” said Art Makris, vice president of leasing and development in Duke Realty’s Columbus office, in a statement. “This new facility will provide our client with the space they need now, plus give them flexibility for future growth. Plus it will include modern features that will enable the most efficient storage and shipment of products.”
Completion of the build-to-suit bulk warehouse is slated for early 2016. The cross-docked building will feature 32-foot clear height; 28 dock doors with levelers, bumpers, seals and lights; two 14-by-14-foot drive-in doors; staging for 50 trailers next to the building; and a 135-foot truck court. In conjunction with construction of the building, Duke Realty is completing road improvements near the site.
