The Columbus office of Duke Realty Corporation is building a 304,560-square-foot, built-to-suit industrial warehouse for American Showa, an automobile parts manufacturer and distributor, in the Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park, a master-planned logistics park being developed in the Columbus market in partnership with Capitol Square Ltd. and Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
The new facility will be located in the Intermodal North Campus of the Park, immediately adjacent to Rickenbacker Parkway, a Loaded-to-Capacity Zone, and in close proximity to the Norfolk Southern Intermodal Terminal and Rickenbacker International Airport.
Located just southeast of Columbus, Rickenbacker Global Logistics Park is accessible from I-270, I-71, I-70, Highway 23 and Highway 33. Rickenbacker Parkway and other roadways within the park have been designated as Loaded-to-Capacity zones. This designation enables companies with a special intermodal hauling permit to operate overweight vehicles or move overweight loads within the park. By maximizing container capacity, companies can increase load volume by up to 20 percent.
Construction of the America Showa warehouse is slated to begin in June with delivery early next year.
