Earles Architects and Associates completed the architectural planning and interior design for Daspin & Aument LLP, a boutique business law firm moving into 300 S. Wacker Dr. in Chicago.

The plan features a modern design that integrates private, traditional office space with an open breakroom and conference areas. EAA designed the space to maximize the amount of natural light coming in and oriented many private offices toward views of the Chicago River.

Daspin & Aument is focused primarily on commercial real estate matters, as well as land use, zoning, tax, estate planning, and litigation. The firm has approximately 30 employees and has room to grow in the new space. Construction is scheduled for completion in early fall.

Design elements, include: A distinctive, symmetrically balanced reception area flanked by rich walnut woodwork and natural stone wall tile; Continuous bands of recessed light fixtures outline the ceiling, giving the space a refined, contemporary appeal; An interplay of spatial concepts, achieved by repeating the same ceiling treatment in a large board room that sits adjacent to the reception; Full-height glazing providing seamless sightlines through the reception and into the board room while a continuous flooring design further enhances the flow between the two spaces; Custom rich walnut woodwork throughout the reception area board room; Exotic wood laminate in secondary conference rooms and the break room that is complimentary to the traditional woodwork and creates continuity between the spaces; Natural stone elements in the reception area, monolithic millwork on the breakroom cabinets and a rich quartz backsplash; And wooden doors with glass inserts and sidelights in the private offices to allow natural daylight to reach the interior of the workplace.
