Construction is completed on a two-floor office space at 33 N. LaSalle Street in Chicago, IL, designed by Earles Architects and Associates (EAA) for technology firm Goby.

EAA also created the interior space plan for the new office, which allows the Chicago-based tenant to double its size inside the 1928, art deco building in Chicago’s financial district. Goby is a technology and consulting company for the commercial real estate industry, providing energy management, invoice automation and other data driven services.

The newly designed open floor plan supports the Goby’s focus on collaboration and flexible work stations. The design creates a unified space throughout two floors, providing seamless connection between the 5th and 6th floor spaces. Among the key features are 14-foot ceilings, a loft style design with a balanced blend of collaborative work stations and some private offices and a large outdoor roof deck with seating.

EAA designed the space to support the firm’s environmentally-focused culture as well as its rebranding initiative. This involves incorporating paint colors, lighting and wall coverings that reflect the new logo and company messaging.

Among the other features are a game room/employee lounge and a breakroom. In keeping with the company’s aquatic name, which hails from the goby fish, EAA designed conference rooms to reflect famous vessels, such as the Beatles “Yellow Submarine.”
