Elkay makes changes to senior leadership team

Elkay recently promoted Ted Hamilton to president, Elkay Plumbing. Hamilton’s long tenure with the company and deep understanding of the market, along with the diversity of roles and experiences he has held within Elkay, make him ideally suited to fulfill this broad strategic role within the company.

“Ted has been a strong, strategic force within Elkay for many years,” said Elkay president and CEO, Tim Jahnke. “He is a dynamic thought leader with tremendous followership among our employees, and he has led our plumbing marketing efforts through some of the strongest periods of growth in our company’s history. As a member of the founding family, Ted has had uniquely well-rounded experience across multiple functions within the business. He has made a measurable impact as he has stepped into this critical senior-level leadership role.”

Hamilton has worked at Elkay since 1992 and has held a wide variety of positions, with an eye toward developing a well-rounded understanding of every facet of Elkay’s business. He started his Elkay career in accounts receivable, and has since spent time in customer care, worked in general and cost accounting, and held a number of operations roles, including production control manager, warehouse and shipping manager, plant manager and led the Bolingbrook distribution center.

After his time in operations, he moved to the customer-facing side of the business and spent time as both a regional as well as director of sales for plumbing products. For the past several years, Hamilton has headed up Elkay’s market development as executive vice president, focusing on new ways to promote existing product lines to end users. Hamilton holds an MBA in Operations from DePaul University, a BS in accounting from Valparaiso University and has completed the executive development program at Kellogg.
