Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International client Evanston Art Center (EAC) was named a 2015 recipient of the “Mayor’s Award for the Arts” by Evanston Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl. The award is presented annually to an Evanston arts organization for its contribution to the community through art, and is selected from nominations submitted by the public.

This year’s award was presented to EAC at the annual “A Bright Night for the Arts” event, which was held at the Rotary International Building in Evanston Nov. 5.

EAC spring benefit Michael Davis

Evanston Art Center is inspired by the belief that the arts are an integral part of vibrant communities, providing exceptional outlets for creative expression and innovative ideas. To support this belief and the growing demand for arts and cultural programing in Evanston, in June 2015 EAC relocated to a new, larger facility at 1717 Central St.

EAC Award

Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International principals Randy Podolsky and Adam Tarantur, CCIM, headed the advisory team for the strategic relocation project, assisting in the acquisition of the facility for the 501(c )(3) non-profit organization. Podolsky|Circle served as Owners Representative and, in conjunction with Lebar Construction Management, also acted as Construction Manager.  The Dobbins Group was the design-build contractor.

While maintaining the visual arts as its core offering, the relocation allows the reimagined Art Center to host expanded, cross-disciplinary programming in new areas of culinary arts, design, digital and 3D arts, film, music, movement and performance, as well as further opportunities to engage with community partners. The newly renovated, open gallery spaces have the capacity for innovative installations to help showcase all mediums of artwork and provide space for future exhibitions, events, and programming.
