FC Cincinnati unveils plans for new soccer stadium

The FC Cincinnati soccer team unveiled a new design for its West End Stadium, which is scheduled to open in Cincinnati’s West End neighborhood in March 2021 and will be the future home of the Major League Soccer team. 

The $250 million stadium construction cost is being privately funded by the club’s local ownership group, which is led by FC Cincinnati chief executive officer and managing owner Carl H. Lindner III. 

Designed by architecture firm Populous and led by Jonathan Mallie, senior principal and director of the New York office, West End Stadium features an ambitious interpretation of Cincinnati on the rise. 

Features of the new stadium include a 360-degree canopy roof, custom LED lighting, the Grand Staircase tht rises 30 feet and the Mercy Health Plaza, which will provide an acre of comunity programming.
