Commercial and residential furniture powerhouse Knoll, Inc. has moved from its longtime home in the Merchandise Mart and officially unveiled it’s new Fulton Market showroom. NeoCon attendees and the public had a chance to tour the space this week as part of “Knoll Design Days.”
Located at 811 W. Fulton, the space is located in one of the hottest neighborhoods in the country. Andrew Cogan, Knoll Chairman and CEO, was attracted to the area’s vibrant architecture and streetscapes, making it an ideal setting for the iconic company to better communicate with the next generation of architects, designers and clients.
“Since our founding 80 years ago, Knoll has contributed to the vitality of reimagined neighborhoods that attract both the design community and creative individuals alike,” said Cogan. “We are excited that Knoll design will be at the epicenter of Fulton Market and are especially pleased to be an anchor of the district, contributing to neighborhood growth.”
The company has showroom and office space occupying the seventh, sixth and part of the fifth floors of the property, which is owned by Shapack Partners. Renae Bradshaw, John Goodman and Robert Sevim of Savills facilitated the long-term lease last May. Clune Construction was the general contractor on the 24,000-square-foot space, which was designed by Gensler; ConopCo Project Management acted as project manager.
“Our team looks forward to greeting the design community and clients at Fulton Market and demonstrating how we help them create hospitality-focused social and collaborative environments that redefine flexibility and address the roles of individuals and teams,” said Benjamin Pardo, Knoll design director.
