First Midwest Group is assisting in the re-beautification of Byron, Illinois as construction crews began demolition April 7 on the former Swedish American clinic.
Demolition of the obsolete structure will pave the way for the addition of a larger, modern retail building. Construction will begin on the new shopping center in coming months.
Several tenants with national presences are expected to be in the strip.
Swedish American’s new state-of-the-art clinic is adjacent to the demolition site at 230 West Blackhawk Drive. The facility opened in February offers family medicine and a range of ancillary services, including laboratory and x-ray.
