Chicago-based REVA Development Partners has announced the first move-ins at The Oaks of Vernon Hills, a 304-unit luxury rental community in north-suburban Vernon Hills, Ill. The community’s onsite leasing and management office is also now open in the clubhouse. Leasing and property management is being overseen by Chicago-based Kinzie Real Estate Group.
“Since breaking ground last fall, we’ve looked forward to welcoming our first residents,” said Matt Nix, principal of REVA Development Partners. “The excitement surrounding the opening of The Oaks from the Vernon Hills community and those who are choosing to rent in the area has been terrific.”
Located along Route 45, just west of Milwaukee Avenue, the 27-acre development features 256 garden-style apartments in eight three-story elevator-served buildings, and 48 rental rowhomes configured in a series of pocket neighborhoods. The apartment flats include one-bed/one-bath and two-bed/two-bath plans measuring 696 to 1,212 square feet. Each garden-style building is served by an elevator and also includes attached garages. The rowhomes, measuring 1,487 to 1,800 square feet, offer two or three bedrooms with 2½ baths and an attached two-car garage. The Oaks is seeking a LEED Silver designation from the U.S. Green Building Council.
In addition to a variety of floor plan options, The Oaks also offers residents a host of amenities including a clubhouse with a catering kitchen, theater/gaming room, state-of-the-art fitness center, and outdoor swimming pool with sundeck and fire pit. The community also features a tot lot, dog park and open green space throughout, connected by walking trails. The Oaks of Vernon Hills has a professional full-time, on-site management and maintenance staff.
“We created The Oaks as an ideal alternative for those who prefer the flexibility and amenities of a rental community, yet still want high-end finishes and quality design,” said Nix. “So far, the interest has been very strong among families, empty-nesters seeking to downsize and professional who work in the area.”
Nix noted the design of the community creates the feeling of an intimate neighborhood, which fits well with the surrounding Vernon Hills area. “Unlike many of the new communities being built which have much higher density on smaller sites, the Oaks site is almost 30 acres and is tucked off Milwaukee Ave. behind a dedicated tree preservation area and includes extensive landscaping, a pond and substantial open space. It feels very welcoming and peaceful, which is what many people want when they live in a suburban home,” he said.
The Oaks also offers a walkable location, with proximity to dining, recreation, entertainment and schools. Additionally, it is within a mile of both the Vernon Hills and Prairie View Metra stations, and offers proximity to I-294 and Milwaukee Avenue.
Residents of The Oaks will be served by award-winning Lincolnshire-Prairie View District 103 and Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125.
