The first residents have moved into The Hudson, the new 228-unit luxury multifamily community adjacent to the University of Kansas Health System campus at 36th Street and Rainbow Boulevard in Kansas City, Kansas.

Developers Hunt Midwest and LANE4 Property Group partnered with KU Endowment to create the project and completed construction in early June. Leaders from all three organizations and the many other companies involved in the design and construction welcomed the first residents this week with a special ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Hudson brings high-quality housing and first-class amenities to the historic Rosedale neighborhood and will support the growth of the University of Kansas Health System campus, a key economic engine for the Kansas City region. The University of Kansas Health System is one of the largest employers in Kansas and boasts close to 14,000 employees on the Rainbow Boulevard campus as it continues to expand, including the new $450 million University of Kansas Cancer Center directly across from The Hudson.

In addition to providing much-needed residential inventory around the KU Health System campus, The Hudson also offers new residents a convenient location in the heart of the Kansas City metro with easy access to the city’s highway network and the ability to easily walk or bike to popular 39th Street and Rosedale businesses and restaurants. Downtown Kansas City, the Crossroads Arts District, the Country Club Plaza, and northern Johnson County are just 10 minutes away by car.

The Hudson‘s name is a homage to the neighborhood’s history, where Rainbow Boulevard was once known as Hudson Road until it was renamed in 1919 to honor WWI veterans.
