Leggett & Platt Commercial Vehicle Products has signed a lease for a 72,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility in Hunt Midwest’s SubTropolis in Kansas City, the largest underground business complex on the globe.
The deal also includes a 13.5-acre underground parking lot for 1,200 vehicles.
Leggett & Platt sells interior racking shelving systems and wall liner packages and exterior ladder racks for Ford’s Transit commercial van. Delivery of the manufacturing facility and office space, which will employ about 50, is expected in the second quarter of 2015.
