Former Dairlyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha retained, 228-acre marketed as industrial site

The owners of the former Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha, Wisconsin, announced that Transwestern has been retained to actively market the 228-acre site for redevelopment.  The site has been dormant since 2009 when it ran its last race.

The property, now called Midwest Innovation Center, will accommodate up to approximately 2.3 million square feet of space for corporate headquarter office users, high-end manufacturers, e-commerce retailers and bulk distribution users according to a preliminary master plan.

The project can accommodate a single building up to 1.2 million square feet. Few sites in Kenosha or Racine Counties can house a building that size immediately.

The site is located along I-94 at the four-way interchange with 52nd Street on Highway 158, and 6.6 miles north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border.

The sellers prefer to sell the entire site immediately, although the projected construction is expected to take 3 to 5 years to complete.  With site infrastructure already in place, construction could begin at Midwest Innovation Center much sooner than many other nearby sites where issues such as wetlands mitigation and public entitlements have yet to be resolved.

Tom Boyle and Jared Paff of Transwestern Commercial Services, Illinois, LLC are the sole brokers.
