Friedman Properties is proud to announce that real estate veteran, Brian Chernett, has been named Director of Leasing. Chernett’s extensive career and tenant-focused perspective made him an ideal candidate to lead the repositioning of Friedman Properties as it builds on its rich history and evolves to meet a rapidly changing office environment.
As Friedman Properties looks to the future, Brian’s experience and approach will be a tremendous asset to Friedman Properties. Workspaces have seen a huge shift in the last 18 months, but Friedman Properties believes the value of human connections remain at the core of the office environment with virtual workspaces being a vital supplement. Friedman Properties sees this as an extraordinary opportunity to meet the changing needs of its customer base and is excited to bring Brian on to confront those challenges head-on.
Chernett spent the majority of his career representing large users in complex transactions at distinguished companies such as The Staubach Company, JLL and most recently, Cushman & Wakefield. He will now bring that expertise to Friedman Properties where he will oversee leasing and strategic investment of the current portfolio, as well as drive demand for new developments projects.
Chernett’s success has been benchmarked by accolades including NAIOP’s Chicago Office Lease of the Year in 2011 and multiple nominations from The Greater Chicago Food Depository Commercial Real Estate Awards. With a real estate career spanning nearly two decades, Chernett is thrilled to be making the change from representing occupier clients to serving in a key role with one of Chicago’s most prolific owners and developers.
